The Pretties and the Reals

By the way, happy birthday to me.

I was reading my sweetest's Shel's LiveJournal entry. She was talking about this Drive thru hottie she saw at a Dunkin Donuts and talked about pretty boys and the "underdogs". Of course, since I kinda touched on the "pretty boys" (see here), I thought I would elaborate further on some different guys, then the girls.

The pretty guys (the ones who go all out to attract a girl by looks) are the ones to watch out for. I don't hang with them for that reason... they're assholes, and they ruin it for the rest of us. That guy that was mentioned in that rambling... big time pretty boy.

The "underdogs" (which I would hope I'm included), they may not have the looks, but they have the personality to make something work. Many of my guy friends are in this category. My friend Scott needs someone cuz I think he's sick of some of the girls that he ends up having a one-night stand with.

Now, for the girls. It's a bit more complicated since you can't quite group them in two groups. Since this is kinda geared toward guys, I'll put some of it in a language you'll understand, so if you're a girl, I apologize ahead of time if anything is offensive to you. But, this is the "underdog's" view of women.

There is the "pretty girl"... the ones who are all made up, look like they are a model, or want to be a model, but have the shittiest attitude (aka "bitch"). They are the ones that usually will have nothing to do with the "underdogs". Fortunately, I never had to date one. They're cool to look at, and I suppose if you're a guy (or a lesbian), may be good to get your rocks off, but otherwise they suck so I'd avoid them. I guess "fat chicks" who are a bitch can fit under this too. I see a lot of these at Cedar Point and at Michigan's Adventure, they always try to flirt, and I almost kinda have fun with them when they do that (to my benefit of course). By that, they try to act so cute and ask the stupidest questions, then I give them the stupidest answers back in my cute way (who said ride operations isn't fun?).

There's those that don't have the looks, but don't have any real substance to themselves. By that I mean self-esteem and stuff. Ok, sometimes guys may go for that stuff, but I think most of those guys are the controlling type, which sucks.

Then there are those who are "I am woman, hear me roar!". Give them their own fucking planet, let them rule in peace, and let the rest of us live our lives. Funny thing is, some still want a guy, but of course they treat the guy like shit. Yes I've seen this happen.

Then, there are those who use religion to hide behind everything, including waiting for sex til marriage and stuff. I don't mind those who want to wait til marriage (and more power to them), but to me, using religion as a reason for anything (including the sex issue) amounts to a false-esteem issue. I've known girls who are deeply religious, but can be freaky and go against the grain with that stuff, so don't try to tell me that stuff. I don't have a problem with religion either (unless they force it on you).

Then there are those that can look like the goodie girl, but their personality is 100 percent opposite. No, I'm not talking about those who are genuinely "good" (that comes later), but I'm talking about those who use the goodie image as a facade. My ex-gf Lisa is one of these.

Finally, there are those who are real. They are the ones you can look at and ask "how can you possibly do anything bad to hurt her?" They have the look that matches the personality. It's almost like you can see the inner beauty in them. For instance, I got another picture of Shel last night... naturally she's ready for bed (hair up, no makeup, bed clothes, etc.). But, I could still very easily see why I fell for her. Stuff like sex with her isn't a top thing on my mind. I love her personality, and I love the warmness she shows in her pictures. I'd rather hug, kiss, hold, and spend time cuddling with these types.

Unfortunately, they can also be the ones that can be preyed upon by the pretty guys and used (and then turn into one of the above types). It sucks, and that's why I said some guys ruin it for the rest of us.
